Silver Woodland Crucifix Pendant

Cast from a real twig collected on one of my walks with the dog, this is a substantial sterling silver crucifix pendant.

As soon as I got my sand casting equipment I knew what I wanted to make! You wouldn’t believe how long it took me to find the right twig: It needed to be not too thick, straight-ish and a big knobbly for some interesting detail!

The same twig was cast twice in silver and then bound in the middle by sterling silver wire. A 925 pendant loop was added and the whole cross was lightly oxidised to bring out the twiggy detail.

Because of its size I think it looks best on a 60cm - or longer - chain but let me know if you’d like a different length.
